Boys Basketball: Eagles drop two; Snelgrove within reach of 1,000

Rebuilding years can be difficult, as it has been in New York Mills, as the boys basketball team dropped games to Bertha-Hewitt and Henning to lower their record to 0-10 in the Park Region Conference and 1-16 overall. The road gets even more difficult next Thursday, Feb. 9 as the Eagles travel to #6-1A Ulen-Hitterdal.

PERHAM — Any talk of a sleeper team in the Heart O’ Lakes Conference capable of upsetting either Perham or Pelican Rapids has centered on the strong play of Barnesville (4-4, 11-7). The Trojans narrowly lost to Pelican Rapids on the road by seven points in late January. Either of the top teams in the HOL can have a close game on any given night and for the Yellowjackets, that game was at home versus Breckenridge Thursday night, when Perham snuck out of their home gym with a four-point victory over the Cowboys, 54-50.
