James H. “Jim” Tenter, 79, of St. Cloud, MN, died on February 5, 2010, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids, MN.
James H. “Jim” Tenter, 79, of St. Cloud, MN, died on February 5, 2010, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids, MN. Funeral services were held Monday, February 8, at First Presbyterian Church in St. Cloud with Rev. Ed Morgan officiating. Burial was in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
James was born March 14, 1930, in Dent, MN, to Henry and Lydia (Brockhoff) Tenter. He was married to Shirley Randall on November 3, 1956, in Le Sueur, MN. Jim served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver for J.L. Shiely for 27 years.
Jim was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Good Sam’s Camping Club, the American Legion Post 254 and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 428. He enjoyed camping, fishing, ice fishing, hunting, photography and riding motorcycle. Jim will be remembered for his strong convictions and being very passionate about everything he was involved in.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; children, Teryl (Lisa) Tenter of Sauk Rapids and Janelle (Randy) Thompson of St. Stephen; grandchildren, Mercedes, Austin and Faith; step-grandchildren, Keziah and Casondra and her children. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kim J. Tenter; and brother, Gene Tenter.
