David C. Dubs 1942-2011
David C. Dubs, 69, of Dent, died on Nov. 1, in Fergus Falls, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with two different forms of cancer. There will be a time of gathering for family and friends on Thursday, Nov. 10, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham. A memorial service for Dave will then begin at 7 p.m.
David C. Dubs, 69, of Dent, died on Nov. 1, in Fergus Falls, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with two different forms of cancer. There will be a time of gathering for family and friends on Thursday, Nov. 10, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham. A memorial service for Dave will then begin at 7 p.m.
Dave was born on Sept. 15, 1942, in Hanover, Pa., to Burnell and Eva (Bosserman) Dubs. He graduated from Eichelberger High School in Hanover. Dave moved to Minneapolis in 1960 where he attended the Humboldt Institute. In 1961, he met his future wife, Barbara Goodland, while working for Dayton’s. They were united in marriage, in Bloomington, Minn. on June 8, 1963. Dave and Barbara are the parents of three children, Janette, Mike and Brent. Dave and his family moved to Fargo, N.D. in 1978 where he worked as a district manager for the Hoover Corporation. Later, he worked for Nodak and Lund Boats. In 1994, Dave and Barbara moved to West McDonald Lake, near Dent. Dave was a good neighbor and was always there to help someone in need. He enjoyed woodworking, home improvements, boating, spending time on the lake and time with family and their dogs.
Surviving Dave is his wife, Barbara, Dent; daughter, Janette Plummer; sons, Mike, Ottertail and Brent (Roberta), West Fargo, N.D.; a sister, Dawn (Brad) Sager, Hanover; brothers, Michael, Wilmington, Del. and Daniel, Red Lion, Pa.; and grandchildren, Christopher and Stephanie Plummer.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents.
