  • The team of Miles Nelson and Ray Sonnenberg hoist their 1st place trophy as their winning weight was announced during the Lund Mania Fishing Tournament awards ceremony held in front of the fire hall after the New York Mills 125th Anniversary Celebration parade.  Sonnenberg and Nelson caught six fish for 25.6 pounds, which edged the team of fishing legend Al Lindner and Michelle Trudeau of Lund Boat Co.   • Russ Jacobson gives his wife Shirley a hug during the “New York Mills... 125 Years of Progress” program held Saturday at the school. Jacobson, who has been a part of baseball in Mills for better than 50 years was honored for his committment to baseball in the community.
  • Seven-year-old Alexis Hale gets a blast of cold water as she slips and slides through water from the garden hose Wednesday evening in front of her New York Mills home on Park Street.   • Evelyn Aho in the New York Mills pre-school program enjoys a breakfast with her Dr. Suess hat.
  • Though rain hampered the 2009 “Heritage Festival” at the Perham Pioneer Village, the sun came out just a the Native American Pow Wow was about to begin.<br /><br />Most of the dancers were from the White Earth Indian Reservation.  The troupe also included a Native American veterans color guard, which carried the U.S. and Canadian flags; as well as the POW-MIA flag and an eagle feather banner.
  • A bundled up crowd of spectators stand in the frigid night air to catch a glimpse of the unique winter fireworks display following the city of Ottertail’s annual Otter Dazzle parade Dec. 5.
  • This robin was one of a flock of birds that landed in southwest Perham. The birds jumped the gun when they flew north, as zero-degree temperatures swept through the area.
