Minnesota Section 8AAA football playoffs: Green Wave in familiar position 
Tom Miller, of the Grand Forks Herald, previews Park Rapids Area at East Grand Forks. The winner will travel to Perham to play the Yellowjackets in the second round should Perham defeat Staples-Motely tonight. The Green Wave are the defending section champions. They are the #4 seed. They won last year's Section 8AAA playoffs as the #4 seed.

Perham's defeat of previously-ranked Detroit Lakes on the road has garnered the Yellowjackets votes in the latest Class 3A football poll and a top 20 3A QRF ranking. A big win over East Grand Forks tonight — in a poll that has three previously unranked teams in the top 10 — could see the Yellowjackets moving up.
