PARK RAPIDS— Jayden Cullen nabbed the only event title for Perham finishing first in the 500-yard freestyle. His time of 5:16.48 broke a meet record that has stood for eight years and set a new Perham High School record, as well.

Jayden Cullen and Zach Langendorfer combined to win four events, but the Park Rapids swim team bested the Yellowjackets 100-78 in Park Rapids Thursday night.

Swimmers fourth at Brainerd Invite, second at Moorhead
Zach Langendorfer was Perham’s only event winner taking first in the 100-yard breaststroke to lead Perham to a fourth place finish at the Brainerd Invitational, Thursday, Dec. 29.In the first meet of the year, Tuesday at Moorhead, the Jackets again came away with one event winner in a second place finish behind Detroit Lakes and ahead of the host Spuds.

Rothmeyer and Jackets freestyle to second in the Mid-State
Park Rapids has put a lock on most of their duals this season, including a dual victory over Perham/New York Mills 97-88 in September. The Panthers continued their dominance with a first place finish at the Mid-State Conference meet edging out the Yellowjackets, in second, 460-417.
Detroit Lakes finished a distant third with 263 points, ahead of fourth-place Staples-Motley with 175.
